Mulberry Farms: On June 21, 2017 from 8:15-1:00, we will visit the farm! Mulberry Farms provides a hands-on guided farm tour with information about the animals geared toward the specific age level of the students. Students will learn about pigs, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, donkeys, horses and more! All students are encouraged to have first hand experience by touching the animals.  Plus they will hand feed the goats and sheep, milk a cow, ride a pony and have a tractor drawn hayride.  Free of charge and chaperone’s welcome

Father’s day:  On June 18, 2017 families across the nations will be celebrating Father's Day.  Father’s Day in the United States is on the third Sunday of June. It celebrates the contribution that fathers and father figures make for their children's lives. Its origins may lie in a memorial service held for a large group of men, many of them fathers, who were killed in a mining accident in Monongah, West Virginia in 1907.

National railroad museum: On June 7, 2017 we will be visiting the national railroad museum from 9:00a-12:30p.  First, the children will get to view a short video about train safety, next they will ride a full size passenger train, then learn about railroads and what trains do during an educational program called “Railroad Activity Time”.  They will finish with a cold lunch before heading home.  Field Trip is free of charge and chaperones are welcome! Look for the permission slip attached to your child’s cubby!


Memorial Day: May 29, 2017,- Stay n Play will be closed to celebrate a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces.  This holiday, was formerly known as Decoration Day and originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the war.

Mother’s Day: May 14th, 2017– We honor one’s own mother, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and influence of mothers in society.  Thank you mother’s for bringing your precious little ones into this beautiful world.  

National Child Care Provider Appreciation Day: May 12th, 2017-  Teachers give us so much. A boost of confidence when we really need one. Extra help when we’re having trouble. A welcoming presence when everything else seems out of control. And though we know we can’t ever thank them enough, we can take a moment to show recognition to educators of young children everywhere.   Join NEA and the National PTA in saying “Thank You” by sharing one of the following on social media during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 7-13:
 A picture of yourself with your favorite teacher, past or present;
 A picture of your child with his or her teacher;
 A picture of yourself holding a piece of paper with a simple message saying Thank You to a teacher and why you’re thanking him or her.
Be sure to use the hashtag #ProviderAppreciationDay when sharing. During this National Teacher Appreciation Week, let’s show our teachers how much they mean to us!”


St. Patrick’s Day: March 17 On this day, the Irish and the Irish-at heart across the globe observe St. Patrick’s Day. What began as a religious feast day for the patron saint of Ireland has become an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods and a whole lot of green! The children are hoping they can catch that lucky, but very sassy leprechaun this year!

Zoomobile: Jan. 11, 2017

Talk about a wild way to get your students excited about education — the NEW Zoo is coming back to SPCC!  A live animal ambassador will be sure to liven up our classrooms on Jan. 11, 2017 at 9:30am.  The zoo educator will bring a fun, animal-themed story book to share with the children. After the story, students will be introduced to up to four different animals – at least one of which they may be able to touch (based on children’s ages).   Parents are welcome to join!

Movie and Pajama Day: Dec. 22, 2016 make sure your child wears their comfy pajamas!  The children will be able to enjoy a Christmas movie on our movie projector in the gym and enjoy a yummy popcorn treats.  It’ll be a day of sweet relaxation along with fun activities all at the same time!

 Christmas Party: On Dec 21, 2016, SPCC will be having its second annual family Christmas Party.  Please join us downstairs at 5:30 pm for Christmas beverages and snacks.  At 5:45 pm a “special guest” will be here to handout presents to all of our wonderful children.  Please RSVP on the sign up sheet by the front door or see Felicia for any questions.  If you would like to have your child eat supper at the center before the party please be sure to schedule your child until 5:30pm that night so we can make staffing accommodations.  

Thanksgiving Day: November 24, 2016: Stay n Play is thankful for all the wonderful families that we have enrolled and for their dedication to the center.  It is amazing every day to watch each one of your children grow and learn.  Stay n Play will be closed on Thanksgiving day (Nov. 24).  We apologize for any inconvenience, but will reopen at 5:30am on November 25, 2016.

 Halloween Party: October 28, 2016: Feel free to join your child’s class for our Halloween celebration.  In the morning, the children will be “trick or  treating” to each of the classrooms as well as doing cool Halloween activities!  We will be enjoying a Halloween snack and continuing our fun activities into the night care too!   Feel free to have your child dress up in an appropriate costume!
 
Parent/Teacher Conferences: October 25 & 27, 2016: Conferences will be held on October 25 & 27, 2016 during pick up or drop off times.  Please arrange the best time to talk to your child’s teacher about his/ her progress.  The staff have been working very hard on assessments and observations and would like to share the information they have gathered concerning your child’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs!
 
Delzer’s Pumpkin Patch Field Trip: October 26, 2016: (8:30-11:30): Join us on October 26; from: 8:30am-11:30pm for a romp around in the pumpkin patch. Other activities include: Haunted Hayrides, Halloween Corn Maze, Animal Zoo, Face Painting, Food, & Crafts. Cost: $6/ person
 
Apple Valley Orchard Field Trip: (September 28, 2016; 9:30a-11:30a)
Apple Valley Orchard  will offer our SPCC families (children ages 3 and up) the opportunity to take a grand tour to the orchard.  Upon arriving, the children will learn a little about the history of the orchard, the proper way to pick an apple, and all about the animals they have.  They will then guide us on their walking trail to meet some of their animal friends.  After that, the children will be give a bag to put their picked apples in.  The cost is $6.oo per student..  This includes transportation, the walking trail to see the animals, and a bag of apples.  Parents / Chaperones must bring their own containers for picking; to be paid by the price per pound. (Cash or Check Only)
 
Picture Day: (September 7, 2016)                                                                                         It is time to smile pretty!  Lifetouch Portraits will be at Stay n Play Child Care at 6:30am on Wednesday for Fall school pictures.  Please provide extra clothes as our other daily activities will still take place.   More information to come!
 
Midland Fundraiser: (September 6-20, 2016)                                                                       It is fall fundraiser time!  Help raise money for Stay n Play Child Care so we can make improvements to our playground area!  The brand new Fall catalogs will be handed out shortly and put in every child’s mailbox.  Please make checks payable to Stay n Play Child Care and ask staff if you have any questions!

Wildlife Sanctuary and Bay Beach : August 10, 2016
We will be leaving Stay n Play around 9:15am and will be returning around 2:30pm.  Given the amount of children attending, this trip will be for ages 4.5 years and up.  However, we would like to invite our 3 and younger 4 year olds if a chaperone is present for the safety of the children.  Please turn in permission slip and fee so your child can join in on the fun!   (Please have children wear proper walking shoes!) 
 


Shipwreck Tour– July 27, 2016 Ages 4 and up will be heading to Roger’s St. Fishing from 9:00am to 1:30pm to enjoy a fun shipwreck tour to go along with our “Under the Sea/Pirate” theme.  As always, chaperones are invited to all field trips!  Watch for more information on the permission slips that will be going out soon!

Firemen Visit- July 21, 2016: At 9:30am the Bellevue Fire Department will be coming to SPCC again to talk about Fire Safety and show the children their truck, their uniforms, and all the necessary supplies!
Beach Party Blow Out- July 20, 2016: Ages 4 and up will be heading to Red Smith Park and Splash Pad from 9:00am to 12:00pm to enjoy a summer day and have a relaxing meal at the park.  Please watch for permission slips for more information!
 
 
 
Pirate Party- July 13, 2016:  Ahoy Matey!  Dress up as your favorite Pirate (no weapons or swords) and join us on a treasure hunt.  The children will dig for buried treasure in a sand pit, “Walk the Plank” on the balance beam, and follow the map to find the final buried treasure chest!  Ages 4 and up will go on a field trip to Bay Shore Park.  (Ages 3 years are welcome to join if accompanied by an adult chaperone.) Watch for permission slips on your child’s cubby with more information.

Bullfrogs field trip: Same the date as Kids Day with the Bullfrogs is here!  The bus will depart at 10:30am for a day filled with fun.  The children will enjoy activities such as balloon animals, tattoo fun, meeting Jeremiah and the mascot friends, and play with Kids Zone activities.  Game starts at 11:35am.  We will arrive back at the center no later than 2:00pm.

Stay n Play Graduation:  On May 25, 2016, at 5:00pm SPCC will  be holding its 3rd annual graduation.  We would like to celebrate the next milestone in these children's lives.  The graduation is also to show all of our preschooler's accomplishments as they enter a brand new school. We are so proud of them.  (Invites only and RSVP must be provided.)  
NBC 26 Field Trip: On May 11, 2016, ages 3.5 and older will be touring NBC 26 as well as have a chance to see themselves on pretend TV.  Bus will depart from SPCC at 9:00am and will return at 11:00am to have lunch in our classrooms.  Chaperones are welcome.  Thank you Christensen Family for this wonderful  idea and helping to make this adventure happen!  The kids are going to love it!

Child Care Provider Appreciation Day: On May 6, 2016, Stay n Play is participating in the amazing celebration of showing appreciation to our fantastic teachers/caregivers.  Thank you Child Care Providers for all of your hard work, strong dedication, and incredible passion toward our children and families. Stay n Play is lucky to have you!
Conferences: April 25-29, 2016- Parent Teacher Conferences– Please see sign-up sheets posted in each classroom or talk to your child’s teacher to set up a convenient time to talk about your child’s progress during this week. Your child’s teacher will discuss with you how he/she  is developing emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively.  
Fundraiser Delivery: April 20-Mark your calendars!  Between 4:00pm-6:00pm, Hansen’s food staff will be here to delivery your fundraiser orders.  All orders must be picked up on this date and time.  If you can’t be there for pick up, please make arrangements for someone else to pick up for you.  Feel free to speak to Felicia with any other questions.  Thank you for your support! 
Field trip to Kidz Town: April 20– From 9:00-12:00, Children can use their imagination through exploration and creative play in their very own child-sized town at Kidz Town on Velp Ave. The play equipment, toys, books, activities and crafts cater to a variety of developmental stages, to discover, explore, and enhance your child’s physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.  The cost will be $10/child and as always, chaperones are more than welcome! 
Picture Day: April 19, 2016– Starting at 6:30am Lifetouch Portraits will be at Stay n Play to take individual, family, and preschool graduation pictures.   More information will be given as the date gets closer. 
Week of the Young Child: Week of April 11-15-The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world's largest early childhood education association, with nearly 80,000 members and a network of over 300 local, state, and regional Affiliates. The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.  Please see page 3 for more details. 
 Easter Egg Hunt: March 24– Come join us as we search for Easter Eggs filled with yummy goodies out on the Playground.  The children will also participate in coloring eggs along with other art projects/sensory activities throughout the week of March 21-25, 2016. 
Fundraiser: March14-March 30– This spring, SPCC will be hosting Hansen's Pizza and Popcorn sale.  Catalogs will be distributed the second week of March. Be sure to check out the special rewards offered just for you inside your fundraiser packet!  Please make ALL checks payable to Stay n Play Child Care. Dr. Seuss's Birthday: March 2- Get involved! NEA’s Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2—Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Valentine’s Day Party: Feb. 12, 2016-
It’s time to celebrate the meaning of friendship and love!  Please feel free to bring in a valentine for all your child’s friends on this day.  A list of their names will soon be placed in your child’s mailboxes for your convenience.  The children will have yummy snacks and fun activities all throughout the day!  Parents are more than welcome to join!  Around 9:30am, ages 3 and older will be decorating valentines cookies

Neville Museum Field Trip: Jan 20, 2016-8:40-11:40-
Our 3 and 4 year olds will have the opportunity to learn what life was like for children in Wisconsin over the past 1,000 years.  The program consists of three 20 minute sections:1.)Discover the permanent exhibit On the Edge of the Inland Sea to see what life was like for the Paleo People, Native Americans, Pioneers, and Victorians.  2.) Hear a Native American legend and children's stories from the Victorian period, and compare and contrast these storytelling conventions. 3.) Explore a selection of Native American, Pioneer, and Victorian toys to deter- mine how the ideas of "play" and "fun" may have changed over time.  Cost will be $6/person and Chaperones are welcome!                       (We will be eating at the museum too.)

Seroogy fundraiser: Starting November 15, 2015:Stay n Play invites your family to select Seroogy’s homemade chocolates and fresh roasted coffees to help meet our fundraiser goals.  Proceeds will go towards field trips, toys, supplies, and special projects including our upcoming Christmas celebration!

Fire Safety: October 7, 2015: Stay n Play will have a special appearance from the firefighters and their truck.  All ages will get to participate in our monthly fire drill, receive community education from experienced firefighters, see them in their uniforms, and get to tour a fire truck!   
Family Fun Movie Night: (October 6, 2015) More fun coming your way!  On Tuesday, October 6  at 5:30pm we will be having a family fun movie night in our very own gym. (located downstairs)  We will serve supper (hamburgers, hot dogs, candy bars, chips, soda, popcorn), raffle off prizes, relax, and enjoy a cute movie (Big Hero 6) for the children to enjoy!  More details will be posted on flyers around the center and emailed to the families soon!

Summer Treat: The "Ice Cream Man" will be visiting our center at 3:30 on the following days: June 11th, June 25th, July 9th, July 23rd and August 6th for Stay n Play families to enjoy a nice cold summer treat. Mmmmm! Make sure you bring your "lose change" those days! Last year we had families give their children about $5 for the whole summer, this is acceptable nut we kindly ask to keep it separate from the weekly tuition.
August 21st 2015: End Of Summer Carnival: SPCC will host the third annual "End Of Summer Carnival." for all out past, present and future families. With many games, food, music and more, it is a great way to kick back, relax and enjoy our time together as the seasons start to change. The carnival will be held here at Stay N Play, 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
 
August 12th 2015: Picnic in the Park: Our children will be taking a field trip to Josten Park located a little ways down the road from SPCC. WE will be walking to the park, going on a nature hunt, playing on equipment and enjoying a nice summer picnic! Chaperones are welcome!  
July 29th 2015: Heritage Hill: Ages 3 and up at SPCC will be experiencing Wisconsin history  from the 17th century to the 20th century. Historic guides will challenge students to think of what it life was like for early settlers of Northeastern Wisconsin during our field trip to Heritage Hill.  Chaperone’s welcome and appreciated!  (Cost per child: $12; includes lunch, transportation, a rabbit foot arrowhead souvenir, and guided tour!)

June 17th 2015: Mulberry Lane Farms: To help celebrate Dairy Month in June we are taking a field trip to the farm. The bus will be leaving 8:15 AM, arriving back to SPCC at 12:15pm. The children will have fun learning on the farm about many different animals. Mulberry Farms provides hands-on experience to educate children and adults about farm animals.

Zoomobile: April 15, 2015- To help celebrate Week of Young Child, SPCC has invited the Zoomobile from NEW Zoo of Green Bay to come to our center.  They will be reading the children a story called, “A Book & a Beast” as well as doing a half hour program called “Fur, Feathers, Shells, and Scales” where the children will have the opportunity to meet and learn about different creature friends.  All families scheduled that day will need to sign a permission slip allowing their child(ren) to participate with the animals. Parents are encouraged to join us from 9:30am-10:45am.

Easter Fun: April 1, 2015– Stay n Play is providing a free event for children ages 2-5.  Children will get the opportunity to hunt for eggs on the playground, decorate eggs, and win prizes! Please dress appropriately as this event will be outdoors.
Picture Day: March 24- (7:00-11:00)  Teddy Bear Portraits will be at SPCC and ready to start taking pictures at 7:00am.  Please let your child’s teacher know if you have any special requests for poses/etc. Teddy Bear Portraits will then be back on April 7 from 3:00-6:00 to meet with each family to discuss which pictures they want purchased.  As a gift, every family will receive a free bag with their child’s picture on it.  Please see Felicia for any questions. 
Field trip Children’s Museum: March 10– (9-12:30)  Ages 3 and up (unless accompanied by an adult) will be visiting the Children’s Museum where the children will have the chance to explore different exhibits that stimulate curiosity and motivate learning.  First Student busing will be leaving the center at 9:00am.  Lunch will be provided and we will arrive back at the center no later than 12:30pm.  The cost is $8/person.  Chaperons are encouraged and appreciated!

SPCC Valentine’s Party: Feb. 13, 2015-

According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, then spring will come early; if it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will persist for six more weeks.
Jan. 21, 2015- Chuck E Cheese Family Night
Come enjoy Family Night at Chuck E Cheese!  From 3:00-9:00, families and staff are encouraged to help support this event at the Chuck E. Cheese on Lombardi Access Rd by Red Lobster.  Let the Chuck E. Cheese cashier know you are a part of our Stay n Play family and 15% of your sales will be donated to our school for classroom supplies. It will be a night filled with tons of fun!  
January 3rd, 2015- Frozen Fest
At 11:00am and 1:00 pm at the Central Library in Green Bay, help ring in the New Year with Elsa and Anna!  Sing-a-long performances will be in the auditorium, with time to meet and greet the characters after each performance.  Bring your camera!  Stay after to make your own paper snowflakes and other Frozen themed crafts!  Contact any Brown County Library for more info.
  October 31, 2014-Halloween Party
Feel free to join your child’s class through out the day for our Halloween celebration.  In the morning, the children will be “trick or  treating” to each of the classrooms as well as making cool Halloween art projects!  We will be enjoying a Halloween snack and continuing our fun activities into the night care too!  
October 22, 2014-Parent/Teacher Conferences
Conferences will be help October 22, 2014 during pick up times.  Please arrange the best time to talk to your child’s teacher about his/her progress.  The staff have been working very hard on assessments and observations and would like to share the information they have gathered with you! 
September 11, 2014-Picture Day                      
 Smile Pretty!  The Picture People will be at Stay n Play Child Care at 9:00am on Thursday for Fall school pictures.  Order forms will be handed out Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 and must be returned no later than Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2014. 
September 7, 2014-Grandparents DayWe would like to invite grandparents for Breakfast on       Friday, September 5, 2014.  We will serve muffins, French toast, baked apples, bananas, coffee, and milk.  Afterwards, we would love for them to stick around to read stories or do a fun art project.

August 7, 2014 -Pamperin Park Field Trip:It is time for picnic in the park!  The children will get to use the playground equipment, go on a nature walk, have a scavenger hunt, and join a nice picnic at Pamperin Park.  The bus will be leaving Stay n Play at 8:45am and will be returning at 11:45am.  If you haven’t turned in your child’s field trip slip and fee, please do so now!  Also, let us know if you are interested in chaperoning!  The more the merrier! ;-)  
July 30, 2014- Beach Party Blow Out
What a better way to bring the month of July to an end by having a beach party right here at SPCC!  Lets bring the sand, palm trees, warm sun, and water!  We will have mega water play, (with water balloons for the older children), sprinkler fun, and cool activities with beach balls/sand toys.
July 17, 2014- Pirate Party/Treasure Hunt
Ahoy Matey!  Dress up as your favorite Pirate (no weapons or swords) and join us on a treasure hunt.  The children will dig for buried treasure in a sand pit, “Walk the Plank” on the balance beam, and follow the map to find the final buried treasure chest!
July 14-18, 2014- Rainbow Week
Dress up each day of the week in different colors.  Monday wear the color red, Tuesday wear the color orange, Wednesday wear the color yellow, Thursday wear the color green, Friday wear the color blue.  The teachers will have a special surprise at the end to handout to each family who participates!
July 4, 2014- Happy Forth of July    
July 4th is a national holiday celebrating the anniversary of the adaption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.”  Stay n Play will be closed July 4 and July 5.  Have a safe and fun weekend!
July , 2014 Date TBD- Firemen Visit
Stay n Play will have a special appearance from the firefighters and their truck.  All ages will get to participate in our monthly fire drill, receive community education from experienced firefighters, see them in their uniforms, and get to tour a fire truck!  Each child will also participate in a cute fire safety art project. 
June  26, 2014- June Dairy Month Field Trip    
As a kick off  to our summer program, ages 3 years old and up will be going on a field trip to Mulberry Farms.  The bus will depart at 9:00am and we will be arriving back at the center at 1:30pm.   The children will have fun learning on the farm about many different animals.  Mulberry Farms   provides hands-on experiences to educate children and adults about farm animals.  For more information about    Mulberry Farms please visit, http://www.mulberrylanefarmwi.com.   Also watch your child’s mailbox for field trip permission slips and chaperon details.
